Alternative medicine can be defined as any medical practice that promotes alternative methods of treatment such as massage or herbal remedies. These medicines can help you to reduce or even eliminate the feeling of lack.

Hypnosis

"A particular state of consciousness, between waking and sleeping, brought about by suggestion. " This is the definition given for hypnosis.

First of all, it is important to know that hypnosis depends on the personality and experience of each person, some are sensitive to it and others are not receptive or uncomfortable. Each person benefits from a personalized treatment with this technique. In fact, the suggestions about smoking given during hypnosis will go against what the smoker normally feels. For example, if the smoker uses tobacco to relieve stress, it will be suggested during the hypnosis session that tobacco is a source of anxiety and this will allow the smoker to stop smoking much more easily because the positive effects will no longer be felt. The withdrawal symptoms related to smoking will thus diminish.

A study conducted on 164 individuals showed that hypnosis was more effective than a nicotine based treatment as part of smoking cessation. Following this experience, 36.6% of patients under hypnosis stopped smoking compared to only 18% with nicotine treatment.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine that consists of pricking needles at specific points on the surface of a patient's body to treat various illnesses or to produce an analgesic effect. It is a technique indicated for treating individuals with addictions.

A 1997 study with 46 men and 39 women, smoking about 20 cigarettes a day, showed that patients treated with acupuncture tended to smoke less than untreated patients. At the end of the treatment, 31% of treated patients stopped smoking.

This medicinal technique is believed to have similar effects to antidepressants according to a study conducted by Dr. Ladan Eshkevari, a PhD student at Georgetown University Medical Center. Indeed, the practice of acupuncture on certain points reduces the production of stress hormones. It also seems to have a positive effect on the feeling of lack.

Essential oils are also an interesting alternative for your weaning. Some essential oils have soothing or stimulating properties for the will, others promote the elimination of toxins thanks to their expectorant virtues. Here are 4 essential oils that you can use during your weaning:
